Bridge Challenge — At Your Venue

Service Description

One of our three Engineering Design Challenges. Teams engineer a bridge that spans a two-foot gap using 3D pens and filament, then put it on the test rig and add weight until it fails. Finding the limit is the point. The number on the board is the score. HOW IT RUNS (2 hours) Safety and pen handling, a baseline build, design and construction, then load testing to failure in front of the room, then an after-action review comparing what each design did under weight. WHAT IT TEACHES Tension and compression, span versus support, material efficiency, predicting failure before it happens, and defending a design decision with evidence. PRICING $35 per participant, $350 minimum. Choose your number of participants at checkout. A $150 deposit reserves your date; the balance is due before your event. TRAVEL Travel up to 45 miles from our studio is included. Beyond 45 miles, we add $50 per additional 15 miles (or fraction) to cover mileage. WHAT YOUR VENUE NEEDS Tables and chairs for your group, standard power within reach of the tables, and a clear surface for the load test. GREAT FOR STEM days, classroom residencies, family engagement events, corporate problem-solving sessions, camps, youth organizations and adult groups who would rather compete than craft.
