Vertical Challenge — At Your Venue

One of our three Engineering Design Challenges. Teams design and build the tallest free-standing structure they can using nothing but 3D pens and filament. Timed, judged, and measured in front of everyone. Think tall. Think stable. Think like an engineer. HOW IT RUNS (2 hours) Safety and pen handling, a baseline build to get everyone's hands working, then the timed challenge, then measurement and an after-action review where teams explain what held and what buckled. WHAT IT TEACHES Load paths, triangulation, centre of gravity, iteration under time pressure, and the engineering habit of testing to failure and trying again. PRICING $35 per participant, $350 minimum. Choose your number of participants at checkout. A $150 deposit reserves your date; the balance is due before your event. TRAVEL Travel up to 45 miles from our studio is included. Beyond 45 miles, we add $50 per additional 15 miles (or fraction) to cover mileage. WHAT YOUR VENUE NEEDS Tables and chairs for your group, standard power within reach of the tables, and clear space for the measurement and review at the end. GREAT FOR STEM days, school assemblies, corporate team building, family engagement nights, festivals, camps, youth organizations and adult groups who would rather compete than craft.
